Midwest of Cannon Falls How it all began In 1953, Pastor Ken Althoff liquidated his personal assets to open a small gift shop in the quaint town of Cannon Falls, Minnesota. The Seven Seas gift shop, as it was known, was a family venture, with his wife and three children helping with the daily work of running a retail business. The gift shop grew to be successful, but Ken saw new opportunities in becoming a wholesale company. All about the artistry and tradition In the 1980s, we created our own, in-studio design department and began designing our own unique holiday and seasonal home décor available exclusively from Midwest.
